The
Allen Quantum™ Organ used in this recording is a 3-manual 80-stop/320-voice
instrument. Two outstanding new developments are involved in Quantum™
technology:
1)
Four complete 80-stop organs are installed in the console; American
Classic, English Cathedral, French Romantic, and Neo-Baroque. All
are able to be individually voiced and finished.
2)
Acoustic Portrait™ is the organ world’s first real-time digitally
sampled room reverberation system. The
system was developed by Lake Technology, a DOLBY Company, and is exclusively
licensed worldwide to the Allen Organ Company. As has been said by
many noted organ authorities, “The most important stop on the organ
is the room.” Allen Organ now brings the science of sampling to pipes
and rooms in real-time.
As
Dr. Nyquist states, “All organs need vibrant acoustics, if outstanding
musical results are desired! An organ without acoustics is like a
piano without a soundboard—not musically acceptable.”
